Tricorn House

Birmingham, UK

Iconic Birmingham landmark transformed from 1970’s offices to modern, functional work space

Total Area

15,000 sq m

System
AET Flexible Space CAM-C Under Floor Supply, Under Floor Return Air

2004 - 2016 Refurbishment

Complete refurbishment of multi-let, 12 storey office building with new undercroft reception and breakout area

AET Flexible Space Underfloor Air Conditioning was offered as a potential solution to the restrictive 2.8m slab height which could cause problems in providing thermal comfort to meet tenants expectations.  The existing perimeter fan coil units had reached the end of their life and their position restricted flexible deeper plan layouts

Low energy comfort cooling and heating is now offered throughout, with the increased headroom fundamental for letting agents and investors seeking high quality space.  The floor plenum is reduced to 175 mm, and the ceiling void reduced to 80 mm, resulting in a floor to ceiling height of 2.5 m
